Position Overview

Title: Facilities Manager
Reporting Relationship: Executive Pastor
Classification: Non-exempt, Full-time

 Position Overview:
This Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the church campus facilities, including oversight of janitorial staff, personally conducting minor repairs, and oversight of larger facilities repairs. Managing routine maintenance schedules of all aspects of facilities maintenance, including safety.

  • Provide leadership and supervision for janitorial team members (including paid and volunteer staff).
  • Manage scheduling for team members. (Including routine weekly scheduling and special events).
  • Lead by example by working alongside janitorial team on regular occasions.
  • Manage annual budgets and expense reporting for facilities maintenance and personnel.
  • Be capable of providing basic handyman repairs such as painting, simple plumbing (faucet repair/replacement), drywall patching/repair, HVAC filter replacement, etc.
  • Have a working knowledge of all campus facilities routine maintenance planning and scheduling issues including HVAC service & maintenance, parking lot maintenance and repair and landscape maintenance.
  • Have a working knowledge of all facets of campus safety and security, including fire safety protocols, and fire alarm system operations, routine fire systems maintenance and repair.
  • General oversight of campus facilities to insure smooth and effective operations.
  • Stewardship of campus equipment and supplies and personnel hours to insure efficiency.
  • Works with Security Coordinator to oversee internal and external emergency preparedness drills.
  • Recruits, develops and manages a volunteer team.
  • Works closely with Security Coordinator regarding general campus safety and security.
  • Maintains and documents an organized system to address maintenance issues that are brought to attention by others.
  • Performs other duties as needed.


  • Preferred experience with large commercial facilities management.
  • Strong relational and communication skills to work well with members, volunteers, staff, and outside agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and leadership gifts.
  • Strong leadership & management skills.
  • Have basic handyman skills.
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteer teams.
  • Ability to use technology.
  • Self-starter—able to work independently.

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years facilities, construction or handyman experience desired.
  • 3+ years leading or managing people desired.
